Antietam Creek Duck Race for a great experience!

Antietam Creek Duck Race

Do you remember going to the carnival when you were a kid?  One of the games featured on every carnival midway was the Duck Pond Game. For a quarter you could pick a pink, blue or yellow plastic duck out of a container of water filled with ducks. Each duck had a number scrawled on the bottom in sharpie marker that determined your prize. It might simply be a plastic ring, or maybe a stuffed animal, but the game was great fun to play!  If you’ve never forgotten the thrill of the Duck Pond Game, you’ll want to be part of the 20th Annual Antietam Creek Duck Race.  It will be held on August 31st this year.   It’s easy to enter one or more ducks in the race. Just fill out an entry form and mail in $5 for each duck. You’ll receive duck certificates with your duck numbers for the race. At 1:00 on race day, the plastic ducks will be dumped into the Antietam Creek at Funkstown, and will race to cross the finish line. You could win one of 25 prizes, and the sponsor of the first duck to cross the finish line will win $300 cash! Spectators are welcome. For duck sponsorship forms, contact the Funkstown Volunteer Fire Company.
